mobile phone call -
thunder and stormy winds
dull the volume
morning sky clearing -
golden clouds of my delight
that too will not last
as per usual
in the rainy season -
tossing window drapes
the phone icon green
shouting my conversation -
rain again today

I like the mix of a mobile call with the rain season. Nice
I like the transition of the storm to sunlight, and then it goes back to the storm. The setting alone is intriguing as it establishes the mood of this piece. I love your take on the prompt, along with the figurative imagery you use. It’s superb especially as it relates to emotions flickering back and forth (sad to happy to sad, but it’s way more complex than that alone). Well done.
fickle weather. PLUS.
Restless is what comes over, flapping curtains, hot wind, irritation with the phone. Too hot!
I did not write of the weather or summer; perhaps I missed the boat. Your swonderful quartet of haiku create a lot; feelings, sensation, time & place; made me sweat a little.
Ah, the goes-around, comes-around nature of rain in the rainy season! Wonderfully evoked!
Rain is in the eye of the beholder. For you it's yet another rainy day, for us it was a welcome drink from nature and a rest for the sprinklers! You welcomed us to your world!

I like your portrayal of fickle weather linked to your phone ... I find technology fickle also! a twist of words representing restlessness ...

A stormy day and rainy days to repeat another day. The natural tropical climate of tropical storms brewing! Wonderful lines gillena!

Very nice set of haiku! Your live in a climate where it probably rains just about every afternoon! Cell Phones are a part of who we are these days!

I love the fact that you've brought your mobile with you! Such an essential part of modern life, but it doesn't often make it into a poem. Great sequence, so pared down.
I love the circularity of your sequence, Gillena, starting and ending with the mobile phone and the storm. You’ve conveyed the frustration of the rainy season so well.

Monsoons are like that, fickle and unpredictable. Well done Gillena!

I love how you tied it together - nature with technology.

We can't seem to escape the phone, even when nature overwhelms.
I like how the phone and the rainy weather link throughout the sequence--though I think the second stanza was my favorite.

It is that time of year again with the rain. Around here there's been more thunderstorms than usual. Maybe it's a cleansing. A good set Gillena.
