pandemic lockdown
the cats deny themselves
social distancing

not for the pigeons
on the high voltage wires
still close cooing

cumulus clouds too
continue bunching anyway
on azure mornings

the  humans deny themselves
age-old normal hugs

These poems are really quite a treat Gillena.

The goldfish bowl haiku is wonderful, Gillena, with the contrast of the smooth stones and the movement of water and fish. I also like the image of cats denying themselves social distancing.

I love your ripples in a bowl haiku Gillena, it is gorgeous! Your take on the Muse is wonderful. Cats always do thave a mind of their own. It is always a pleasure to visit your blog!

Oh yeah, the goldfish ripples are magnificent. The cats imagery is cool, but not as much so as the fish..
Have a great day, GC~

The goldfish was like a meditation in a poem. Also, the cat poem traced the current separation aches well.

I really like your assessment of the animals compared to people in the response for the Sunday Muse, and the haiku made me smile. :) I like that goldfish sashaying!

You took an interesting direction with this. We humans need to keep our distance, but not the cats. :)

Cats live to defy the rules :) goldfish are amazing ... they will grow according to their environment. Stay small in a bowl, large in a pond. :)
