a senryu for these times.
i think we called cassava 'tapioca' over here. the leaves made for great stir-frying. :)

Love this mix of poems--a tentative future and the strong roots that support it.

A beautiful poem Gillena. I love that it is about the rooted plant cassava and the history it holds.

No kissing outside the home here either. Well, there are very irresponsible people who refuse to mask, but... the rest stay and keep others safe. Our restrictions for outdoors have been relaxed, but I suspect they'll be back soon--the Delta variant of COVID keeps on being spread, mostly by the unvaccinated.

The last haiku is making me crave cassava bread. So I shall have some with my afternoon coffee.

Happy Sunday, Gillena.

Such a lovely haiku, Gillena.

I think not wearing a mask when told is disobeying the Golden Rule. I purposely coughed on a woman once at the grocery story who, unmasked, tried to dart down in front of me to grab a bag of carrots. She left in a hurry without her carrots.
I would treat kissing as eating or drinking, remove mask, kiss, and put it back on.

I'm back, I posted here another poem from earlier on.
Those little cars with no back seat or a rumble seat are a pain if you have three or more.
