after the rain
there they lay in pinks and whites -
fallen blossoms

Even ripped from the tree by the rain, the blossoms are beautiful.

enduring beauty!
i love the visuals your poem give me! Happy Sunday!
Lovely, Gillena. We may get some light rain today, which my blooms will drink in......then many petunias will shrivel!
Aha!

There is so much beauty in sadness.
you paint a lovely image of wet blossoms.
The rain can only take those things that only had a tenuous hold to begin with.
I love this. Beautiful unto death. And then of course cycling back into life. I always enjoy your accompanying sketches!

an exquisite haiku.
All the fallen flowers can be quite a sight. I'm partial to mounds of spent camellias, who seem to have exhausted themselves, and the fluffs of crepe myrtle blossoms.

Describes our weather today.
Lovely … a seasonal nod evoked so delicately - some skilful word crafting in this perfect haiku.
The petals are little boats for the raindrops to ride... lovely Gillena!
Plants are much more resilient than humans for if we had our heads knocked of that's it, but those plants will bloom again.

Your haiku reminds me of our old home, where we had a blossom-tree in the front yard.... a lovely memory!
