I hadn’t heard of douens, so I looked them up. You condensed those lost souls so precisely and yet so creepily, especially the backwards feet, that you’ve given me the chills this morning, Gillena!
I had to look up duen. What's the reference to Silk Cotton mean? Since Silk Cotton is neither silk nor cotton, are the dunes neither good nor bad, not one thing or another?
Glad I sparked your interest. Silk Cotton is The Kapok or Silk Cotton Tree. According to the mythology; there is where the douens love the dance, under The Silk Cotton Tree.

Very intriguing! Now I’ll have to look them up too; can hardly wait.
"backward feet" She is destined to lead because no one can follow those backward feet.
Wow I looked up the douen, and found the folklore image perfect for children lost. Let them sway, tall tale or not.

Your fine drawing fits your piece well. I'd not known the douens.

Hi Jim, haven't hear from you in a long time. Happy you dropped by. Thank you for your appreciation.
I sketched an outline and did a cut out from newsprint. Took a photo with my cell phone and used a filter to get the final outlook.
Glad you liked it
