WHO DOESN'T LUV APPLES

Love can be an uncrushed flower

love can be
an uncrushed flower

love can be
passion unrestrained
bee sips ixora

an uncrushed flower
held between fingers of
a smitten lover

ixora at night
a yellow moon watches
shadows in the street

I love that you have so embraced the troiku.

'Ixora' was a new word for me; I imagined it was a word for apple juice, then Google told me it is the flower: West Indian jasmine. That gave me the presence of scent even more vividly.

This is truly beautiful Gillena.

As others have said, I add my “a lovely poem” to theirs. Brava.

Like Rosemaru, ixora was a new word for me. Beautiful art, and a language lesson bonus!

Very pretty. Ixora is too tropical for my zone, but it's a lovely choice for poetry. Just saying it aloud is poetic.

Gillena, this is delicious! Love the passionate tone and imagery. Also, ixora is a favorite flower of mine. We call it "jungle flame". I haven't seen one since I was a very in the Dominican Republic. So, thank you for taking me back...

Jasmine is one of my favorite scents, but I have not experienced an ixora yet. I hope to someday.

I haven't seen ixora fliwers ever but they should grow here in the Gulf flat lands. Google showed some very pretty ones, inviting your lovely verses.
