Oh the uncertainty we had back then. How will I breathe? What about my lipstick? Walking right past each other sometimes, unrecognizable.
LOL....I remember...I have not worn makeup or lipstick for two years. Fun piece !
And it turned out that mostly we do know.
I like your poem about the leaves, too.
Your haiku made smile. Because there is no definite knowing nowadays who is behind the mask. :-)

I love the idea of leaves congregating. Happy Sunday Gillena!
yes, initially, on meeting, we are unsure and hesitant to greet. but later, even with the mask on, it becomes like normal. perhaps it's the hair style, the eyewear or the clothes?
Oh, that last poem tripped something in me--avoiding seeing the past helps to salve the endless gas station present, maybe.
"Waiting for their humans" ... but only the leaves gather. I like your poem, Gillena.

So true about masks.......at first I couldnt recognize anyone.....now, I think I will feel like my face is naked if we return to not wearing masks. LOL. Loved your response to the Muse prompt, too.
oh. well that's just brilliant, very succinct, kind of hammer-on-the-nail-and-just-one-swing-to-drive-it-home kind of brilliant. very well done gillena, really enjoyed this
"waiting for their humans
leaves congregate' - great!
Love your personification of the leaves Gillena.
I also like how you picked up (pardon pun) on the yard full of leaves!

I've gotten really lazy - throw a pair of sunglasses on with the mask - I'm incognito :)

I always wonder if I will recognize people I've met during the pandemic, if they aren't wearing a mask. ID by eyes and hair (for those who have hair), I guess.
I really like the idea of leaves holding their own.
We are all gone now.
Only memories remain
Most of them have gone
..
I liked your mask ditty, I smile a lot, even masked, and somehow even folk who don't know me smile back beneath their masks.
..
I like how you characterize the home as a living thing, waiting faithfully for its people.
Sometimes the mask remains even when we see the face.
I never like to see an old neglected house like that. Just think of the stories it could tell but now silenced.

Interesting thought
We just went back to the mask indoor here. I am so tired of everyone looking like a criminal.
Hi Gillena, I love the photo of the old house, so lovely. Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog last week, it was really nice. ♥♥
Love the leaves waiting for their humans!
At least that mask was colorful.

I Rembrandt them well - those early mask days.
Sorry to comment so late. It’s always nice to stop by.
I kind of like wearing a mask instead of makeup! LOL
