To Us: Tony and Gillena Cox; when sweet love was the flavour of life
as i stir salt
into boiling water
for the pasta
i think of us far away
now in my yesterdays

How often it is that food is a trigger for fond memories of loved ones.
Perfect! it is in those tasks that we do over and over, the routines, that we read the changes of time. The contrast and the similarity and the time to think merge as time spirals on. Love.

Nice time for reminiscing. There's a tinge of sadness pulling at the heartstrings. Beautifully penned Gillena.
Memories are so often linked to taste and smells, cooking is a great link.
Outstanding! Remembering in simple acts.

".......now in my yesterdays...." ah, so many of our thoughts fly back to earlier days........lovely to have the memories we do.
Indeed, our memories are often associated with food!❤️ Beautifully penned, Gillena ❤️
Funny, isn't it, the memories that are conjured up by simple tasks? Insightful poem.
