Yes, I too was curious and wonder whether you saw the illustration and the poem wrote itself as you looked at it!
How mysterious, those blackbird's feet!
Thanks for droppibg by Robin. It is not an Exphrastic. I wrote the haiku then searched for a image to supplement.
Glad i sparked your interest

Oh, I love blackbird poems — what a mysterious species tingling our imaginations and introspections.
A lovely haiku, Gillena.

I love the image of the blackbird, resting her feet. Smiles.

She deserves a little rest after singing her song.
Those feet on the sign will linger in mind today. They feel more watchful than not and that seems like a good balance to a song. :)

Yes indeed Mary. We all have our place in the scheme of normalcy.

We are all stunned into silence like that blackbird, though our feet hold us calmly. I like this immensely. It's stark and true.
I like the idea that a blackbird leaves footprints on a street sign, meaning she's present even when you can't hear her! There must be blackbird footprints all over our trees!
I like this small poem so very much. The blackbird leaving his prints on the street sing.

Fun to imagine when blackbird will flap his wings and fly away at a tilt up into the sky... leaving everything even, behind...

Awesome haiku Gillena, and the blackbird is perfect! It looks rather native-american.
