a rattle of beads
the gypsy woman eyes closed
will now scry to them

❧✿❧

at the creek a web
no spider has spun awaits
the careless trekker

the helpless cry of
of an animal ensnared
sends a chill through out

then the drumbeat of
the natives sound in union
with swaying of leaves

for there is no sin
when hunger of a village
recedes in a feast

they plaster small huts
with the rich mud they know so well
for threadbare dwelling

One can see this in the unfairness meted out on poor nations by those powerful and greedy! It sends a chill of despair and helplessness! Well penned Gillena!

How easy it was to picture this scene from the way you used the words Gillena. Well done.

Beautiful words depicting a true hunt...one done for survival and not sport.

I recently read a book set in the Amazon jungle. Your sequence made me think of the native tribes depicted in the book and their harsh lives. Well done.

A great use of the words ... such lovely haiku. Bravo. Bastet.

I like that you describe the mud as "rich mud". In parts of Africa, the mud is this vibrant reddish color and there is no better way to describe it than 'rich.'
