3 strong images in this haiku. I love how the sun takes centre stage....as it’s wont to do.
The sun , the desert, the rain, so many elements intertwined beautifully.

The earth makes time for both - the desert and the rain. Even a cactus needs just a little bit of water. Smiles.

Ah, yes, once the sun comes out the earth starts to parch again. How well I know, living in the desert.

We need both sun and rain.
I have never seen a pink cactus before. How cool.
Lovely contrasts :)

I could feel the tease of the rain that only deigned to stay a small while.

I see the new growth is leaning towards the light no doubt mourning for the desert! Yes the haiku is beautiful.
This reads like a whisper from a miracle... sending signals to the barren soil/sand, saying that not all is lost.
I really like this one, Gillena.

I love the way you have not mentioned a cactus but it is there in the haiku, hiding between the lines. A lovely contrast of a rain and sun, Gillena!
