A reading in ordinary time,
This poem doesn't need to rhyme;
However, if i make it,
I'll just call it a limerick;
Then clean, cook, chop some thyme

SANDY FLIP FLOPS

A treasure, the sand between my toes;
Washed from my flip flops, with a length of hose;

Such fun days, pearled in sea shells on the beach,
And other such like ones, hoarded within my reach;

Rocks to climb, mountains steep to gaze,
while frangipani redden, beneath the sun rays;

I treasure such memories of youth.

this was the mood out on the Western Main Road St James, Trinidad 2006, after our team 'Soca Warriors' qualified to go to Germay

Today i'm thinking 'Soca Warriors', 'settlement', and 'YEAH!!!'

Mostly everyone, if not everyone, is looking at World Cup 2014 this July. Which makes for an eclectic mix of tears, hugs, waves, colours, hurts and joys. Here in T&T there's joy in the camp of our Soca Warriors, who are in the news, not as players, but as receivers. Happily so; the long outstanding monetary payment owed to them, has been settled.
And now looking forward, Yeah!!! Germany/Argentina today; may the best played team win.

a bright moon
through the eye of a needle
this silence

eye of a needle
a double strand enters
knots dwell in her mind
she can cross stitch a village

She lived in the eye of a needle
Folks called her Ole Mrs Tweedle
There in her space
all day long she'd tat and lace
and ne'er did she tire that weedle

SIMPLE GESTURE

ghosts of futures
image the blood of ragged -
rain drops in a drought

blind sighted raises him arms -
a simple gesture

who will summon
the rain; a mission
beyond his measure

I thirst - is what was said by him
Mighty enough, waters to part
Holy though earthbound walking
Messianic mission ever fulfilled

rain drops remain the sickle moon 's thirst for wholeness again

thirsting awhile -
the liquid yearns of my soul
meanders

another hot day
my thirst surrendered -
froth of golden beer

There once was an aunt named Quin
Who drank till her antennas grew thin
Of honey so sweet
And curds so meek
Her thirst for a waistline so slim

IXORA
The ixora blooms drink to their delight,
From the wettness in seasons of the rain;
Their little umbrella faces bereft of strain,
Resplendent in interludes of sunlight;
I linger a while to write, a tribute if i might,
To your now iterative state, and feign
Jealousy, to compliment your splendor again;
Radiant reds, oranges, and yellows bright,
A common place blooming, a beautiful sight;
No place in legendary courts to regain,
For never have you lost your plebeian reign;
A threadbare glory remains your right;
Seen here and there never out of sight;
Still my delight, beautiful ixora you remain
