Sunday Savvy 27

Today, is Pentecost Sunday to Catholics, and too, many other Christians communities ; commemorating the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the remaining eleven Apostles of Christ (Judas had hanged himself), included in the 12 Disciples in the Upper Room, after the Resurrection of Jesus...Pentecost is celebrated seven weeks (50 days) after Easter Sunday, hence its name.

As a child, i knew this Sunday as Whit Sunday, and the Monday following was a holiday.

Sunday Savvy 26

...of Sunday Savvy and supermoon speculations...
Sunday Smiles to all

Two weekends ago the 2012 supermoon bloomed on Saturday May 5th.
On Sunday May 6 the moon approached within 357,000 km (222,000 mi) of Earth, in what is scientifically known as a perigee-syzygy of the Earth-Moon-Sun system

The name SuperMoon was coined by astrologer Richard Nolle in 1979, arbitrarily defined as:...a new or full moon which occurs with the Moon at or near (within 90% of) its closest approach to Earth in a given orbit (perigee). In short, Earth, Moon and Sun are all in a line, with Moon in its nearest approach to Earth.

Today, Mother's Day at Lunch Break; I'm Wishing all Godmothers a Happy Mother's Day and inviting stories poems and what ever else you wish to share on the theme Godmother

Traditionally, godparents were informally responsible for ensuring the child's religious education was carried out, and for caring for the child should he/she be orphaned. Today, the word godparent might not have explicitly religious overtones. The modern view of a godparent tends to be an individual chosen by the parents to take an interest in the child's upbringing and personal development

Sunday Savvy 24

I was born on a Saturday; so my mother tell's me; hmm, morning or evening, i do not know; ....note to self, must ask....
well; The Days Of The Week Poem tells us "Saturday's child works hard for a living
...And the child that is born on the Sabbath day Is bonny and blithe, and good and happy".

What day of the week were you born? does it matter you think?
