SNOWFLAKE ARALIA RYOGIN
village kids
don't break all the plum branches
for cattle whips
a muddy path leads to school
who can skip on such a day
into the sea
throwing my sandals
rain on my hat
pirogues waddle a little
clouds rest on the sea surface
polished again
the mirror is as clear as
flower-like snowflakes
turning away from the smooth sea
colour splayed mountains beckon
falling to the ground
a flower closer to the root
bidding farewell
running fast from there to home
as if hearing mother's voice
mid-harvest
a crane on the rice paddy
in a village in autumn
a leaf falls as if dancing
with a swing partner
sleep on a journey
then you will understand my poem
autumn winds
back then children held respect
for their parents and elders

Wow, Gillena! Well done for including all six haiku and for thoughtful, original two-liners. I especially enjoyed:
'a muddy path leads to school
who can skip on such a day'.
Thanks for your appreciation Kim

A wonderful ryogin Gillena. A very nice line-up and your two line stanza are great. It was a joy to read and re-read this renga. Basho would smile as he could read this one.
