I bought some lovely dasheen leaves on The Western Main Road (here, in T&T, we say in everyday talk 'callaloo bush' ) and i cooked a pot of Callaloo yesterday. Also, with The Rains the Plumeria blossoms in my garden, are large and full and happy looking.

__ Not only have I never tasted it, I had never known of Callaloo... each and every day we gain new information. Thanks, Gillena! _m
Morning rain; clatters through the Callaloo; tonight's soup.
Nice write! Another favorite: Barefoot girls.
Lucky boys, to go shirtless in the rain. May they enjoy the soak!
Thanks for dropping by and sharing a haiku Doug

A lovely scene
Boys are lucky in that sense :)
Oh my! I grew up in the country and have glorious memories of shirtless boys ... barefoot too. Thanks much.
Hello Gillena, I too had never heard of Callaloo before this! I looked it up and it looks delicious. There is nothing better than making food from right where you live. Thank you for sharing this with us! And thank you for the country rain and those lucky boys!

A joyous image you conjure up!
i love your dasheen vegetable. i think i've tasted it at the Caribbean market here. Happy belated Sunday to you Gillena. God bless.
I love your Haiku It gives a sense of the carefree days from when your are young
I often dream of my teenage years and the past long gone. However the memories are good and life has been beautiful but it's sad we always want a bit more!
I could do with some shirtless boys around here as a distraction, Gillena! Enjoy your Callaloo - and thank you for your Sunday Smiles.

Callaloo. I assume some type of greens? I would probably love them. I even like poke salad, picked carefully of course. Raised in the country and I do remember those shirtless boys and dirt roads.
I really love the images your haiku paints. The freedom of playing around with skin exposed to rain. I can almost hear the laughter.
I hope you're having a really good week, Gillena.
Your haiku paints a picture... love it!
