where candles flicker
shock and horror visited -
hearts weep for lost ones

fifteen years ago
the face of history changed -
World Trade center bombed

mornings reoccur -
peace questions the wildflowers
striving without care

I'm not so hopeful today, but I do wish for peace and justice. Thanks for the Nat King Cole song. He's a favorite.

Thanks for this remembrance of 9/11, Gillena. Indeed the face of history changed on that day & hearts still weep....but thankfully the mornings DO continue to reoccur.

A day of sombre remembrances. Nicely written :)

So much has happened since... such a parting of ways... no it will never be the same again. Yet the birds sing as before.

The day of change, we can hope in the next 15 years the world will get better, but sadly i am doubtful. So much loss that day! Thank you for remembering!

The wildflower haiku is my favorite. Poignant. Well-written, Gillena

I love you tribute poem for 9/11. What a terrible day that was. I remember it like it was yesterday. I wish the world was a safer more secure place. Maybe we just need to acceptance and love of others. Hope all is well. Hugs-erika

The first two haiku made me sigh and reach for my heart... The last one make my heart warm with hope. Things will get better. We can (will!) make it so. ♥
