Today i'm thinking '...what to blog? what to blog? what to blog?'

WEDDED HEARTS
a grain of salt
the taste of water to
wilt lonely hearts

the way to the cross
through the center lane adorned
soundof lilies' sighs

limitless angels
some to east some to west
of eye span

unseen parts of
human consciousness
where straight paths bend

to curve
a matrimony of hearts
Sunday savvy

a case of golden rings opened

I SAY/SHE SAY

I say "buy a house"
she opts for an apartment
my adult daughter

"crochet tablecloth"?
"no crochet table-center"
so i make her one

so at Christmas-time
we sit in holiday cheer
at her small table

her home-cooked meal fed
we read poems from my book
her boyfriend listens

Today i'm thinking '...that was some rain yesterday afternoon'

...setting out, to go to Saturday Evening Mass, a touch of sunshine still brightening the Saturday sky, i stop to talk to a neighbour, holding a baby in her arms. Then, a flash of really heavy rain, sends me back home to grab a large umbrella and opt to taxi instead. I get to church clutching tightly my umbrella and holding it low over my head, keeping my eyes low, peeled to the ground, so i would not step in puddles...

Sunday savvy

yet every blade of grass
welcomes that sudden rain

*

slow and leisurely
to a quickening hurried -
sky dictates the pace

A reading in ordinary time,
This poem doesn't need to rhyme;
However, if i make it,
I'll just call it a limerick;
Then clean, cook, chop some thyme

SANDY FLIP FLOPS

A treasure, the sand between my toes;
Washed from my flip flops, with a length of hose;

Such fun days, pearled in sea shells on the beach,
And other such like ones, hoarded within my reach;

Rocks to climb, mountains steep to gaze,
while frangipani redden, beneath the sun rays;

I treasure such memories of youth.
